A Life of Love, Strength & Service
From the early age of five, Ella was no stranger to responsibility. Diagnosed with rheumatic fever, she stayed out of the fields and instead took charge of cooking for her family—a role that would shape her future. Over time, she honed her culinary skills, completed high school, and became a professional chef. More than just a job, cooking became an extension of her care and love for others.
Ella was a prayer warrior who started her mornings at 5:45 AM in church, interceding for those in need. As a single mother of four, she juggled three jobs to give her children private Catholic school education—never depending on welfare or government assistance. Known for her no-nonsense strength, joy-filled laughter, and candid speech, Ella was a light in every space she entered.
Ella’s children are living testaments to her loving discipline and encouragement—all earning advanced college degrees. Her unmatched cooking earned her tips directly from customers, and her garden was always alive with blooming beauty. Her spiritual wisdom, keen intuition, and nurturing heart shaped not just her family, but the lives of everyone she encountered.
More than anything, Ella loved children. She believed in a full, enriching education that went beyond classrooms—arts, animals, sciences, and strong moral foundations rooted in Christian faith. Today, Ella’s Heart Foundation carries that same vision forward, helping children and families access opportunities, support, and love—just like Ella gave every day.
